Plastic Platter Upgrade

Good Afternoon Ladies!
I don't know about you, but I have a ton of those cheap clear plastic trays you can pick up at the Dollar Store for a buck.

They are great for taking food to parties because if you leave it there, no worries you're only out a buck.

Or if you have kids...plastic is always a smart idea LOL :)

Please excuse the pic..it's on a garbage bag in my garage and its dark.  Here is my $1 plastic serving tray.  After taking the photo, I turned it upside down and spray painted it.
I let it dry, which didn't take long at all, and put on a second coat.

Important: You only want to spray paint the back side..not the side you will put food on.

And here's what I ended up with!  I chose this Dark Red/Maroon color to match my decor.
Isn't it cute!

Imagine the possibilities...you could spray the tray to match your holiday decor, or birthday party colors, or your favorite team colors.  Your wheels are turning..aren't they??

Honestly...I love it. I love it cause it brought my clear boring platter to life..I love the color...and above all I love that it was quite possibly one of the easiest craft projects ever!

Boring to Beautiful in a few easy steps!

Happy Crafting!

  1. naturally like your web site but you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very troublesome to inform the reality then again I will surely come again again.

    1. This comment doesn't make sense, it sounds like a robot wrote it. Was that intentional or is this spam mail?

  2. I read your blog and creative posts often. This is such a fun project. I have never been troubled with your grammar or spelling. I looked at the profile for the above comment and the profile is not readable. I think you have a rude spam bot on your hands sweetie and should not worry about a thing. Even if it were a legitimate follower, it's your blog, which is an online journal. Journals are not meant to be critiqued, and I consider it an honor that you share your journal with us all. Love you sweetie. Remember to keep Calm and tell that Bitch you don't live for her ;)

  3. I just checked the link from the above rude comment, it's spam someone trying to sell plates, LOL. I get these comments too, they never make sense and they are always linked to someone trying to sell something.

    1. Don't you hate when robots are rude lol. There is this one fashion blog that is always leaving comments that don't make any sense on my blog, and you can tell no one has read the post. I am sure they signed up with some company to spam mail for them. I hate it, If you get a comment on your blog from me it's because I read your post and liked your work. I will not have robots, rude ones at that, talking for me. I don't see the point of it. Have a great weekend and talk to you soon.
