Glowing Eyeball DIY

BOOOOOO!
So it's almost Fall...and let me tell you I can't wait!

I'm blonde, and ghostly pale..I love the fall leaves, hoodies, Crock Pot cooking and Football :)

BUT..Halloween is my least favorite holiday.
However, I do enjoy it to some degree because my boys love it.
AND..it gives me an excuse to craft...like I need one LOL!

So let's get to talking about my awesome Eyeball!

I found this 12 pack of plastic eyeballs at the Dollar Tree.
They have 3 different eyeball colors to pick from...
I think they were Yellow (like pictured), Red and Blue...but I could be wrong.
Then I used a flame less tea light candle that I already had.

I got some help from my handsome assistant...
 Crafty Soccer Dad

We started with a drill bit that we thought was big enough..
it wasn't.
So we tried a bigger one in the already drilled hole and..

 Oops! It cracked!
Oh well, we had 11 more, so we tossed that one aside and started with the largest drill bit this time.

 It worked!

Final step consisted of putting the Eyeball on the flameless tea light, and turning on the light.  Yep, that easy.
Ok so here's the final result..
Drum roll please....

I just put the Eyeball on the tea light, turned it on and BAM!
How cool is that?

Ok it's cool but not as cool as when you turn the lights off..

That is so COOL!

You could use these as little nightlights in the bathroom if you wanted...you know if you are into that sort of thing.

I have two boys, so I'm sure they will want one in their rooms.

I plan on having my studly assistant drill holes in all the rest and I will put them all over my house around Halloween time.
I will also put them outside on my porch too, maybe in my yard :)

You could put them in your Jack-O-Lanterns mouth too!

Lots of possibilities, but over all, this was a fun, very quick, and very inexpensive craft that will for sure be a huge hit!

Easter Frame

Today I made this super inexpensive frame for my home.

I bought a frame at Michaels for $1 and my Mom bought me these foam Easter Stickers also $1..
Thanks Mom! I'm sure these were meant for my boys but I couldn't resist dipping into them :)

I made the "Hippity Hoppity" sign on my computer...easy peasy!

So all in all this project cost me $1...YAY!

It's a great project for the kids too...You could glue Jelly Beans on the frame, or paint the frame..
I liked the natural color this go around, but if I make another one I think I'll paint it.

St. Patricks Day Necklace

Hello!
Today I'm showing you this St Patrick's Day Necklace I made :)

It was a super fast project and very inexpensive as well!

I had these glass rocks from the Dollar Store..you know the ones that are flat on one side?
A lot of people make refrigerator magnets out of them.

I made two necklaces different ways:
Way one:

I put a Clover Sticker onto a piece of green printed paper.
Then I put some Diamond Glaze on the back of the Glass Stone, and placed it on top of the sticker/paper.
I let it dry and then cut around the stone, getting rid of the excess paper.
I added some Diamond Glaze to the back of the paper too, let it dry.
I then glued on a jewelry bail with E6000 and it was done!

Way Two:

I glued the green paper to the back of the stone, but placed the sticker directly on top of the stone on the front side.
The reason for placing the colored paper behind is, if you leave it clear you can see the bail through the stone and it looks ugly..in my opinion.

So now I have a cute little necklace to wear on St. Patrick's Day so my two annoying adorable son's don't pinch their mother!
I'm sure they'll do it any way LOL :)

Have a great day

Valentines Day Pennant

I've been wanting to make a Pennant for a long time.  I think they're adorable and a fun  & easy decoration for any Holiday or Event.
I had planned on making one for Christmas and waited too long...I just ran out of time.

SOOO..I made one this morning to kick off my Valentines Day Decor :)

Items you will need:
Ugly Regular Duct Tape
Colored/Designed Duct Tape (Assorted Colors)
Ribbon
Ruler
Pen/Marker
Scissors

Please excuse the poor pic quality!  I highlighted my pen marks for you with Hot Pink lines...
I made some Duct Tape Fabric..Decorated/Colored DT on one side & ugly regular DT on the back.
I hate to waste Duct Tape..especially the design style DT because it's spendy.

So on the ugly regular DT side, I marked my triangles..I did mine 3 inches wide.  Then cut them out.
Added some white ribbon to back using tape and Voila..DONE!

Here's a closer look.  I hung my new Valentine's Day DT Pennant over the Fire Place..

I LOVE IT!

I will for sure make one for each holiday now...SO..MUCH..FUN!

Recycled Snowflake~Craft Fail?

Recycled Snowflake~Craft Fail?

Ok..here's the skinny..being a crafter I can't help but want to turn everything I touch into something...
I ran my kids through McDonalds drive thru today and got a drink holder.

When I got home I couldn't help but wonder...what can I make out of this???

And this is what I am up with...

Here is my "Snowflake" on my front door...pic is dark sorry about that..but it doesn't look so hot.
I like that it also looks like a cross....

How I did this:

Step 1: Cut the "wall" off of the Drink Holder

Step 2: I painted it white

Step 3: I added blue glitter

Done.

Hmm...not super thrilled with it, however it was fun to make I will give it that.  It's super windy outside so the glitter was flying all over the place. I do like the Snowflake concept.
I think that if I do this again, I would paint it a different color, like blue maybe, since my front door is white.

This would be really easy for a kid to decorate with paint or marker.

Have a great day!

Candy Cane Hearts

Candy Cane Hearts

Aren't these adorable??
A beautiful tasty treat for all ages!

What you will need to make these cuties:
Chocolate Chips (Milk, Dark, White, Semi Sweet..what ev)
Mini Candy Canes
Peppermint Extract

First things first...spray a cookie sheet lightly with some cooking spray..
then put a piece of Wax Paper on top of the cookie sheet.
The cooking spray helps keep the Wax Paper in place.

Now unwrap the Mini Candy Canes and put them onto your cookie sheet using two candy canes to make a heart.

Reserve a few and put them in a baggie and hit them with a spoon to crush them up into little tiny bits.

Melt your Chocolate and add about 1/2 Teaspoon-3/4 Teaspoon of Peppermint Extract.
You can add a tablespoon of Oil to the Chocolate to make it more pourable.
NOW..I first tried to spoon the chocolate into the hearts..they looked ugly...soooooo
I put the melted Chocolate in a pastry bag and squeezed the chocolate inside the hearts and it worked perfectly..to each her own...use what technique works best for you :)

After filling all your hearts with Chocolatey Goodness...sprinkle your crush candy cane on top.

Put the cookie sheet in the refrigerator and let the chocolate set...I'd say to be safe..30 minutes-an hour.
I put them on one of my red plates as shown above..the plan was to put my Homemade Peppermint Bark in the middle there :)

These are definitely a crowd pleaser, their cute, decorative, fun to eat and tasty to boot!

Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments

Duct Tape Christmas Ornaments

Aren't these adorable???!!!
Or has my love of Duct Tape gone too far lol :)

I'll tell you what they look awesome on my tree!

So cute!

Here's the rest that I made...

Jingle Bells

Candy Cane

Red/White/Green Striped

Red & Gold

Snow Flakes

Green & Gold

And for my very favorite...Drum roll please....

Santa!! I love this one!!

SO I ran over to my tree and put it on there...LOVE IT!

Ok Ok..I'll stop obsessing over my TOTALLY awesome Ornaments!!
But only for a few minutes while I show you how I did this :)

First pick out the color/design of Duct Tape you want to use...

Next cut out two 7inch strips of tape..then cut those in half.
You should now have FOUR 3.5 inch piece of Duct tape.
Make a piece of Duct Tape Fabric (laying two pieces sticky side to sticky side, making sure to leave some sticky showing so that you can flip it over and repeat.
You will end up with this...this is the front and the back will look exactly the same.

I used the inside of a roll of Duct Tape as my guide for a circle..I just traced it with a pen

Then I cut it out like so

I made a little tab by using a strip of Duct Tape..sticking it to the front and then folding it over to the back.
Then I punched a hole in it with a hole punch.

Then I attached some silky ribbon.

Hung it on my tree and called it a day...
ok well actually I didn't, I ran back and made a ton more...can you say ADDICTING!

This is a family friendly craft..so get the kids involved and let them make some ornaments too :)
You can use a Sharpie on the back to write the year!
