DIY Dry Erase Board

DIY Dry Erase Board

Hey guys!
So today I made a Dry Erase Board...and it took me seconds..literally!

Here's what I did:

Bought a Cookie Sheet at the Dollar Store, and some clear Con-tact Paper at the Craft Store (I wanted white, but they only had clear)

Also bought these handy dandy Dry Erase Markers that have Magnets already on the back...YES! They stick right to the Cookie Sheet..SCORE!
Only $1

Then I attached the Con-Tact Paper to the Cookie Sheet, and Voila! DONE!
Easy Peasy!!

I was just doodling....LOL...or you could doodle this...

Yep..he did..I had to give him a buzz cut...That Little Stinker!

He looks cute though, even with the bald spots that need to grow in, hard to be mad at him.  It must be in the genes, I'm licensed in hair....Just glad he didn't cut himself! KIDS!!

Any who, back to the Board...You can have a ton of fun with this...use it as a Dry Erase Board or add magnets for the kiddo's to play with.

You could also put magnets on the back of the Cookie Sheet and put it on the Fridge!

Have a great day everyone!!

I have a pile of hair I need to go clean up.....and I just heard the boy say he brought in a new "pet" from the back yard...eek gotta go!

  1. Turns out it was just a potato bug...wheww! But he's terribly upset now, cause he dropped it in the bark dust, so I'm off to go hunt for another potato bug...wish me luck!

  4. Love the idea. And it must be a 4-year-old thing. My girl cut her hair this year too...right before her fifth birthday.

  8. You could put the contact paper directly on the fridge too!

  9. Yes you could, that would be cool! For this project I really wanted something the boys could take in the car..you know instead of video games lol :) You know another way to make your own dry erase board is to use Aluminum Foil..who would of thought? :)

  10. I made this today and actually found the white contact paper after searching all over town. I was so excited to try it, and when I tried to erase it...not everything came off. So I used my standard nail polish remover on a cotton ball, and it didnt take it all off either :( I was really bummed because a friend of mine who teaches 3rd grade, wanted to make a whole set for her classroom next year. Any suggestions on what I might have missed?

  11. Oh no!! That is such a bummer :( I have not tried it with white contact paper, I just wanted too. I used the clear, and it left a little residue behind but not a ton. I'm so sorry! When we clean dry erase boards we use glass cleaner, maybe see if that makes a difference.

I heard Aluminum Foil works well too. I have not tried that yet. But they say to simply glue to the surface you want to use, and it too works as a dry erase board.

  12. I will try that. I thought maybe cause the contact paper I got was a more matte finish that had something to do with it. Thankfully the contact paper is easy to take off and we will try the foil later. Thanks for the input!!!
