Comic Book Wallet

Comic Book Wallet

Today I made a very simple Comic Book Wallet....and my son LOVES it!

I purchased a two pack of comic books at the Dollar Store for my son,
which I might add he never read.  So I decided to use them for crafts :)

And this is what I came up with!  He's thrilled, I'm thrilled..it's a win/win

Here's what I did:

I ripped out (gently folks) a page of the comic book and trimmed it to a 6.5" x 6.5" square.

Please excuse the glare....
I then covered both sides with Clear Packing Tape.
Take your time during this process, you don't want bumps and air bubbles...
After covering both sides, I trimmed off any excess tape from around all edges.

Then I folded the bottom up toward the top, stopping shortly before they are even.  You want the folded piece to be a bit shorter than the piece behind it.

Then using the packing tape I added tape along the sides of the wallet secure the sides.

To keep it closed I used some Self Adhesive Velcro

And it's done!  This is so awesome...I mean what boy..big or small..wouldn't like one of these bad boys??

This would be the perfect gift for any teenager..throw a $10 bill in there and call it a day!

Hope you enjoy this :)
Happy Crafting!

  1. My son makes duct tape wallets and sells them to his friends. I'm shocked at what a wallet made from duct tape is going for these days. We are always looking for good crafts for one reason or another. I'm following from the hop. Stop by for a visit!

  2. Holly,
I make them too. I've been selling Duct Tape wallets for years now. I too am surprised at how much people charge for them. I think it's great that your son makes them. I have an 11yr old son, and I want to teach him. I make them for all his friends. Duct Tape is my all time, can't live with out, craft item. IT'S MY FAVORITE!!
