Plastic Platter Upgrade

Good Afternoon Ladies!
I don't know about you, but I have a ton of those cheap clear plastic trays you can pick up at the Dollar Store for a buck.

They are great for taking food to parties because if you leave it there, no worries you're only out a buck.

Or if you have kids...plastic is always a smart idea LOL :)

Please excuse the pic..it's on a garbage bag in my garage and its dark.  Here is my $1 plastic serving tray.  After taking the photo, I turned it upside down and spray painted it.
I let it dry, which didn't take long at all, and put on a second coat.

Important: You only want to spray paint the back side..not the side you will put food on.

And here's what I ended up with!  I chose this Dark Red/Maroon color to match my decor.
Isn't it cute!

Imagine the possibilities...you could spray the tray to match your holiday decor, or birthday party colors, or your favorite team colors.  Your wheels are turning..aren't they??

Honestly...I love it. I love it cause it brought my clear boring platter to life..I love the color...and above all I love that it was quite possibly one of the easiest craft projects ever!

Boring to Beautiful in a few easy steps!

Duct Tape Bow Bracelet

Good Morning Ladies!

Sorry I've been M.I.A. the last few days...LAME I know..it's just been one of THOSE kind of weeks.

Today I am showing you my Duct Tape Bow Bracelet!
And I'm super stoked to show you this cause it's SOOOO simple to make and super-d-duper cute :)

Here's how I did it..

Step 1) Cut two 9 inch strips of Duct Tape..you may need more or less given the size of your wrist.

Step 2) Put one piece of Duct Tape on table sticky side up, now place second piece of tape on top of that..sticky side to sticky side.

Step 3) Trim around all edges, making sure there is no sticky along edges. I like to trim the end pieces by rounding the corners. That's optional, I just think it makes the bracelet look more finished.

Step 4) Cut a strip of Duct Tape that is 1/2 in wide.

Step 5) Pinch middle of Bracelet to form a bow..I do this by folding the middle in half..taking each side and folding it towards that middle crease..make sense? Look at the pic and it may make more sense.

Step 6) Wrap your 1/2 in piece of tape around middle.

Step 7) Add Sticky Back Velcro to the bracelet..put one piece on the inside of bracelet and one piece on the outside of bracelet.

Step 8) DONE! Now go sport your new fab bracelet and relish in the fact that everyone will be totally jealous!

 Happy Crafting!!

Duct Tape & Tile Coasters

Pure Hotness right?

This is the easiest of easy when it comes to a Duct Tape project.
And they turn out fabulous...it's really a win/win situation :)

I bought some Ceramic Tiles at Home Depot super cheap...like $0.60 a piece or something.

I added Self Adhesive Felt thingy's to the bottom..you know those things you're supposed to put on the bottom of chair legs lol :)
Any who, what ever those little guys are called, I got them at the Dollar Tree..$1 whoop whoop

Added Duct Tape to it..and it sticks GOOD...

And Voila!
I'm so love'n this tile coaster...it's so cute.
The best part is, there are so many Duct Tape Colors and Designs to choose from, you are bound to find one to fit with your decor.
Better yet, you can make them match your holiday Decor..such as the Candy Cane Striped one for Christmas, the Skulls or Orange/Black for Halloween, the Pink Polka Dot one for Easter...the list goes on and on.

Happy Crafting!
Update: It occurred to me after posting this that using the new Duct Tape Sheets would be much easier.  That way you can cut one big 4x4 inch piece and you won't have the lines from the strips or have to worry about lining them up just right.  The camera picked up the lines but honestly they are really hard to see in person, so either way is fine.

Wood Burning Spoons

Last night I borrowed my son's Wood Burning Tool and had a blast burning some wood spoons.
I had a Wood Burning Tool when I was a kid and loved creating fun things with it.

I bought a 4 pack of Wooden Spoons at the Dollar Tree...
The 4 pack is awesome because if you mess up your only out a few cents.

So my art isn't the best..I'm not a professional and I was using a KIDS tool but here are the close ups of my Wooden Spoon Burned Art :)

My last name and a Palm Tree..I LOVE Palm Trees

A goofy face :)
Wouldn't this make you smile while making dinner?

And of course..Eat..Pray..Love
Did you see that movie??? OMG it was so good...made me want to drop everything and run to Italy lol :)

So there you have it...some Wood Burned Spoons.

These would make a great House Warming Gift wouldn't they???

Something to think about for Christmas next year...if you have older kids, they could make one for Grandma!

Have a great day
and
Happy Crafting!
