Watercolors & Salt

Hey guys!

Today I am going to show you this really cool and fun painting technique.

Watercolors and Salt Painting.

This is a craft/art that is fun for all ages, young and old.
Those are my favorite types of crafts :)

And it's super easy!

So here it goes..

You will need Watercolor Paper
Watercolors
Paintbrush
Coarse Salt (Kosher)

First you want to paint on the paper...you want it wet but not huge puddles of watercolor.
Again, it really doesn't matter, but you get different effects either way.

Now sprinkle a little salt on it.  Less is more.

You can see where I got a little crazy with the salt...YIKES!
Leave the salt on the picture until the whole thing is completely dry.

Then brush off all the salt and see what you created!!

See the star burst at the top? That is what you are going for.  Isn't that cool!

So what do you do with your art now?

Well...you could....
Frame it
Give it to someone special
Cut shapes out of it
Journal on it
Stamp on it
Or make a card out of it.

I chose to make a greeting card out of mine.
I just love this.

You could have your kids make some for Father's Day cards!
I keep forgetting that is right around the corner :)

Hope enjoyed this tutorial :)

On a side note...I'm a sponsor in a group giveaway going on over at
 Bacon Time
You should head on over and enter to win fun stuff from some really talented women.

Here's what I'm giving away..so go check it out..
all the cool people are :)
Have a great day everyone!
