Duct Tape & Tile Coasters

Pure Hotness right?

This is the easiest of easy when it comes to a Duct Tape project.
And they turn out fabulous...it's really a win/win situation :)

I bought some Ceramic Tiles at Home Depot super cheap...like $0.60 a piece or something.

I added Self Adhesive Felt thingy's to the bottom..you know those things you're supposed to put on the bottom of chair legs lol :)
Any who, what ever those little guys are called, I got them at the Dollar Tree..$1 whoop whoop

Added Duct Tape to it..and it sticks GOOD...

And Voila!
I'm so love'n this tile coaster...it's so cute.
The best part is, there are so many Duct Tape Colors and Designs to choose from, you are bound to find one to fit with your decor.
Better yet, you can make them match your holiday Decor..such as the Candy Cane Striped one for Christmas, the Skulls or Orange/Black for Halloween, the Pink Polka Dot one for Easter...the list goes on and on.

Happy Crafting!
Update: It occurred to me after posting this that using the new Duct Tape Sheets would be much easier.  That way you can cut one big 4x4 inch piece and you won't have the lines from the strips or have to worry about lining them up just right.  The camera picked up the lines but honestly they are really hard to see in person, so either way is fine.

Tile Coasters

Tile Coasters

At my youngest son's birthday party last week, my father-in-law asked for a coaster to set his coffee cup on.  And for some reason I couldn't find one! I have no idea where they went...

So that is why I made these coasters.  My husband loves Mickey Mouse, so I thought I would make the coasters with scrapbook paper I had left over from a birthday present I made him.

Here's what I used for this project:

Mickey Mouse Scrapbook Paper
Mod Podge
Clear Spray Glaze
Tiles (from your hardware store)
Self Adhesive Protectors

First I picked up some white tiles at the hardware store..they were only $0.16 a piece!  I love a good deal :)

I cut my scrapbook paper to just shy of 4.25" x 4.25".  The tiles are 4.25" so I cut them just a tiny bit smaller than that.

I coated the tile with Mod Podge using a paint brush, and put the paper on the tile.  I smoothed all the edges, just to make sure they didn't life up.

Then I took them outside and did a few coats of Clear Spray Glaze, waiting about 20 min between coats.
I let them dry over night, just to be sure.

I bought these self adhesive protectors at the Dollar Store

Then added them to the bottom of the tile.

I love how they turned out!!
I'd say they look pretty darn good on my table :)

This would be such a fun and inexpensive gift to give to someone.  There are so many ways to makes these tile coasters. Customize it with their initials, or scrapbook paper.

Another fun idea would be to use Comic Books...actually I might just do that!

Get Creative and have fun with it!

Happy Crafting!
