DIY Notepad

DIY Notepad

I made these adorable little notepads out of Scrapbook Paper and a piece of Cardboard

and

I'm totally addicted!  They only take a few minutes to make, and I can't stop!
Here's how I did it:

I cut out a piece of Cardboard to 4"x5"
and then a piece of Scrapbook Paper a bit larger than the cardboard, as shown here
I glued it down (on the non printed side) with some Mod Podge

Then I cut the corners of the paper, and folded the paper up and glued as I went
Kind of like wrapping a present :)

I cut a smaller piece of matching paper and glued it over the bare spot
Then I took a binder clip and covered it with the Scrapbook Paper too using Mod Podge

And here's the finished product!  Isn't is adorable??!!

I also made this one!  Pink Zebra Print...yeah baby!
This is so easy, quick and affordable.  This would be a great gift for a teacher, a co-worker, a friend, any one really.  I put mine by the phone for doodles and messages :)

I'm seriously loving this project....So don't throw out your cardboard, and break out those scraps of paper and make something super fun!

I'm going to go make more right now!

Soda Can Earrings

Recycled Soda Can Earrings

I've made these a few times over the years...and last night a couple cans were just sitting there calling my name.

I made sure the cans were good and rinsed, then cut the top and bottom off the cans.

Here are the earrings I made :)

These are purple earrings made from a Grape Soda Can...Cute huh?

These earrings are SUPER light weight

Pepsi Earrings!  I love these, they are so much fun!

And last but not least...

Bar Code Earrings!  I think these are my favorite!  I filed the edges, rounding them out,  with just an ordinary nail file.

They are hard to photograph cause they are so shiny!

Hope you enjoyed my Recycled Soda Can Earrings!

Tile Coasters

Tile Coasters

At my youngest son's birthday party last week, my father-in-law asked for a coaster to set his coffee cup on.  And for some reason I couldn't find one! I have no idea where they went...

So that is why I made these coasters.  My husband loves Mickey Mouse, so I thought I would make the coasters with scrapbook paper I had left over from a birthday present I made him.

Here's what I used for this project:

Mickey Mouse Scrapbook Paper
Mod Podge
Clear Spray Glaze
Tiles (from your hardware store)
Self Adhesive Protectors

First I picked up some white tiles at the hardware store..they were only $0.16 a piece!  I love a good deal :)

I cut my scrapbook paper to just shy of 4.25" x 4.25".  The tiles are 4.25" so I cut them just a tiny bit smaller than that.

I coated the tile with Mod Podge using a paint brush, and put the paper on the tile.  I smoothed all the edges, just to make sure they didn't life up.

Then I took them outside and did a few coats of Clear Spray Glaze, waiting about 20 min between coats.
I let them dry over night, just to be sure.

I bought these self adhesive protectors at the Dollar Store

Then added them to the bottom of the tile.

I love how they turned out!!
I'd say they look pretty darn good on my table :)

This would be such a fun and inexpensive gift to give to someone.  There are so many ways to makes these tile coasters. Customize it with their initials, or scrapbook paper.

Another fun idea would be to use Comic Books...actually I might just do that!

Get Creative and have fun with it!

Comic Book Wallet

Comic Book Wallet

Today I made a very simple Comic Book Wallet....and my son LOVES it!

I purchased a two pack of comic books at the Dollar Store for my son,
which I might add he never read.  So I decided to use them for crafts :)

And this is what I came up with!  He's thrilled, I'm thrilled..it's a win/win

Here's what I did:

I ripped out (gently folks) a page of the comic book and trimmed it to a 6.5" x 6.5" square.

Please excuse the glare....
I then covered both sides with Clear Packing Tape.
Take your time during this process, you don't want bumps and air bubbles...
After covering both sides, I trimmed off any excess tape from around all edges.

Then I folded the bottom up toward the top, stopping shortly before they are even.  You want the folded piece to be a bit shorter than the piece behind it.

Then using the packing tape I added tape along the sides of the wallet secure the sides.

To keep it closed I used some Self Adhesive Velcro

And it's done!  This is so awesome...I mean what boy..big or small..wouldn't like one of these bad boys??

This would be the perfect gift for any teenager..throw a $10 bill in there and call it a day!

Hope you enjoy this :)

DIY Sidewalk PAINT!!

 Sidewalk Paint
This paint is soooooo much fun!!! I can't even stress how cool this is...seriously!

Here's what you need:
1/2 Cup of Cornstarch
1/2 Cup of Cold Water
Food Coloring

That's it....I'm sure you have that in your cupboard right now..go make this..it will make your kids day!

Mix the water and cornstarch in a bowl, then distribute mixture (it will be runny) into small bowls.
Add food coloring...I added 3 drops of color to each container.
Done..seriously takes a minute tops to make this fun activity!

This is what it looks like as it's drying...and it only takes a minute.  You can see the first letters were already drying by the time I got done painting the "4th".

Here is what it looks like pretty much dry...cool huh??

This would be so much for the kids to do before fireworks...you know that time where it's still light out and they are begging you to start the fireworks?  Yeah that annoying time..perfect activity!

I'm going to break out these paints on the 4th and let all the kids paint my driveway and sidewalk and have a blast.  I love to see their artwork come to life.

Hope you enjoy this craft..clearly I'm really excited about it lol.

Have a Happy 4th Of July!

Who doesn't like getting a package in the mail?? I love it!
My gift exchange partner Alexis is so nice, LOVE HER!  I had a blast getting to know her :)

So here is what I made for Alexis (who loves bright colors, especially Orange)

A Button Bracelet and Button Earrings!!  When I posted this Button Bracelet on my blog a couple weeks ago, I didn't want to spill the beans so I didn't mention it was for my partner.

I hope she likes it!

And today I received my gift from Alexis...YAY!

She made me this beautiful broach!  Isn't it adorable!! I may wear it in my hair too :)
Thank You Alexis!!!

DIY Dry Erase Board

DIY Dry Erase Board

Hey guys!
So today I made a Dry Erase Board...and it took me seconds..literally!

Here's what I did:

Bought a Cookie Sheet at the Dollar Store, and some clear Con-tact Paper at the Craft Store (I wanted white, but they only had clear)

Also bought these handy dandy Dry Erase Markers that have Magnets already on the back...YES! They stick right to the Cookie Sheet..SCORE!
Only $1

Then I attached the Con-Tact Paper to the Cookie Sheet, and Voila! DONE!
Easy Peasy!!

I was just doodling....LOL...or you could doodle this...

Yep..he did..I had to give him a buzz cut...That Little Stinker!

He looks cute though, even with the bald spots that need to grow in, hard to be mad at him.  It must be in the genes, I'm licensed in hair....Just glad he didn't cut himself! KIDS!!

Any who, back to the Board...You can have a ton of fun with this...use it as a Dry Erase Board or add magnets for the kiddo's to play with.

You could also put magnets on the back of the Cookie Sheet and put it on the Fridge!

Have a great day everyone!!

I have a pile of hair I need to go clean up.....and I just heard the boy say he brought in a new "pet" from the back yard...eek gotta go!
